Delete your SMASHIO account.
Last updated 12 August 2026
You can delete your SMASHIO account and the personal data attached to it at any time. This page explains how to request it, what gets deleted, and what we're required to keep.
Delete it in the app (fastest)
- Open SMASHIO and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Delete account at the bottom of the settings list.
- Read what gets removed, then tap Delete my account and confirm.
This runs immediately — your account is gone and you're signed out before the screen closes. No email, no waiting.
Or request it by email
- Email hello@smashio.com.au from the email address on your SMASHIO account, with the subject "Delete my SMASHIO account".
- If you signed up with Apple or Google sign-in and can't email from that address, include your display name and the phone number or email you use in the app so we can identify the account.
- We'll confirm your identity, then confirm by email once the deletion is done.
We action emailed requests within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity.
Hosting an upcoming game? Deleting your account cancels every game you're hosting that hasn't happened yet, and everyone who joined is notified. That can't be undone, so if the game should go ahead without you, sort that out first. Games you've only joined simply release your spot.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your profile: name, email, photo, suburb, skill tier and preferences.
- Your reliability score and games-played record.
- Your join requests, hosted games that haven't happened yet, and your place in any upcoming game.
- Your device push token, so you stop receiving notifications.
- Any booking confirmation you uploaded as a host, including the image itself.
- Ratings you gave other players are unlinked from you.
What we keep, and for how long
- Group chat messages you sent in a game remain visible to the other players in that game, shown against a deleted user. This is so the rest of the group keeps a readable conversation. Tell us in your request if you want your messages removed too and we'll remove them.
- Games that already happened stay in other players' history, without your name attached.
- Ratings other players gave you are deleted with your account.
- Anonymised, aggregated usage data (for example, total games played on the platform) is kept indefinitely. It can't be traced back to you.
- Records we're legally required to keep — for example, fraud-prevention or dispute records — are kept for up to 7 years, then deleted.
- Backups roll off within 30 days, after which your data is gone from those too.
Deleting the app isn't deleting your account
Removing SMASHIO from your phone stops the notifications, but your account and data stay on our servers. Use the request above to delete them.
